About Dawn's Family-Kirkpatrick, Schofield, Spencer, Cheyne, Hoyt, Mersereau, Wood, Pearl, Young, Keizer,
This work is dedicated to my mother who got me started. She simply wanted to
know if I could find any information on her father John Ezekial Schofield who
was killed in WW1. I think I've fulfilled her request. I would appreciate
any corrections as not all information has been verified. I will try and
add notes to those I knew personally or have been told stories about so you
get to know my family as people not just names. My sources come from census
records, obituaries, township records, hours of research at the Kentville
Historical Society, family members and others. A special thanks to Sherry
Comeau and Ruth Spencer. For simplicity reasons I have spelled all my Keizer
surnames the same way. However, members of my family used Kaizer, Kaiser,
Kayser and others. Check out the photos, I will be updating them. Have fun
with the relationship tool. DON'T FORGET TO SIGN MY GUEST BOOK. Thanks for
dropping in :)

Historical Notes
The Coldwell (Caldwell), Jordan, Ells, Bill, Bennett, Schofield, Mosher,
Thompson and Allen families arrived in Nova Scotia prior to the American
Revolution. They were known as Planters, and old English term for colonist. I
am a direct descendant of all these families. The Mersereau and Hoyt families
that settled New Brunswick were Loyalist. The Kirkpatrick family came from
Ireland. The Young (Jung), Emmeneau, Keizer, Swinemar, Rafuse, Barkhouse and
Knickle families were all part of the families that came from Germany and
France and
help found the town of Lunenburg, N.S. All these families I directly
descend from.
I also have family that originally came from Scotland, Wales, and England. I
will list them later.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthday and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
